PLEASE, don’t miss golden hour!

alright, (not going to lie) this is probably one of the biggest things we stress to our couples! why? because it’s what we’ve seen the couples regret missing out on the most. *and the one thing we regret the most about our own wedding.. 😒

Let us explain! 👇🏼

picture this, your wedding day goes amazing, you had an beautiful ceremony, a super fun receptions, you danced your heart out with your every one of your friends and family. A couple weeks later you get your photos, you scroll through them, (Love Them), but you realize one thing… There are barely any photos of just the two of you. 🙃

You message your photographer and say,

“hey, we love the photos, but are there any more of just us…?”

to which your photographer says,

“UNFORTUNATELY, since you guys weren’t too interested in sneaking away from the party to get some photos of just the two of you, the ones that you see is all we got.”

we don’t want you to be in that position, because ULTIMATELY the day is about you two, so you should have photos of just you two! and more than likely these photos are going to be the ones you put on your wall, in your photo albums, and the ones you give as thanks you’s!

Now there are a couple ways you can go about making sure you get a lot of photos of you two alone!

  1. tell your photographer when planning the timeline, “we want photos of just us scheduled in!”

  2. Make sure you have your photographer booked late enough in the day for golden hour! 🌅 *for those that don’t know, Golden hour is the hour around sunset. (depending on weather and clouds, it’s safe to say it’s about 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after susnet)

Golden hour is also the best light of the day! throughout the day, you will have harsh sun, which leads to harsh light and shadows. Golden hour is what it sounds like, really warm, soft light that makes skin look like it’s glowing! You will want to take advantage of this!

  3. Lastly, make sure schedule down time throughout the wedding day to relax, and enjoy each other. (these moments also have a good chance of being some really fun candid photos of you two.)

Moral of the story, make sure to schedule in pictures of just the two of you! And if your budget allows, make sure your photographer stays until sunset to get those Golden hour photos!

We hope this was informing and helpful, and there will plenty more of these quick little guides!
