WHAT ARE

DAY AFTER PHOTOS?

Before we answer what they are, I will answer if you should do them. And the answer is YES.

You most likely don't understand the business of a wedding day yet, but that are almost always full of couples trying to squeeze everything they've seen on Pinterest into their day! Yes, that's probably you! πŸ˜‰

Because of that, sometimes you would rather hang out with all your family and friends than go take more photos. And trust us (we're wedding photographers) you take a lot of photos!

This is where Day-After photos come in. Usually it's a day, a week, or a month after your wedding day where you go to a location (usually this is a scenic location) where you can get some photos with a waterfall, lake, sunset, etc. in the background.

Here are the reasons

1. Lets be real, there are a lot of photos taken on a wedding day. (1000s, to be exact, and your'e in basically all of them.) So sometimes the last thing you want is to walking around for an extra hour or more posing when you hear all the friends and family you invited laughing and partying. It allows you to still get these photos on your day, but not feel pressured to be away from your guests as long.

2. You paid a lot for that dress. In fact, too much for it to just have photos taken of you in it just one day.

3. You don't have to worry as much about keeping the dress sparkling clean like you do on your wedding day. Some brides do what's called 'trash the dress' and will do crazy things like go four-wheeling with their husband in their wedding dress, or go swimming in a lake! These not only make for some memories you won't forget, but also amazing photos you can put on your wall!

4. You wanted destination-type wedding photos, but you didn't want to elope because of family and friends. 'Day after photo's allow you to go to a scenic location or two, and get the 'elopement' feeling photos that are perfect for getting a canvas PRINTED or putting in a frameD PHOTO on your wall!

the photo below was actually a day-after session and we chose to go totally out of the ordinary and we requested a empty movie theatre as the location! Let me say, It was so fun!

5. You will feel way more relaxed than you did posing on your wedding day. Why? Cause you had a lot going on that day between all the faces, conversations, reading vows and speeches, and saying yes to forever. Plus, you've had some practice since you've already taken photos in your wedding attire, and now you will pose like a pro!

6. Because what girl doesn't like to get dressed up again and feel like a princess all over again?

We hope these are enough reasons to consider a day-after session!

We actually did this ourselves and chose to go to a waterfall up the north shore, and we loved the photos so much we printed like 10 of them and they are all on our walls!

You don’t have to make up your mind now, but keep it in mind as you budget, you may want to leave room to book this with your photographer!

Keep your eyes open for the next guide next week!
